After our visit to the Temple of Leah, the original plan was to visit the Sirao Garden. For some reasons, however, we were not able to figure out how to get there as there were numerous road closures along the mountain roads that were supposed to lead us there. Lest we run out of time, we dropped the plan and decided to proceed to eating our lunch.
For our final meal in Cebu before heading back to Manila, we settled for somewhere high: Top of Cebu Restaurant.

Snugged on a hill overlooking the city, Top of Cebu offers a variety of food options which you get to enjoy either while having a beautiful view of the city or while being in the clouds, quite literally.

I could no longer remember what exactly our orders are called, but they were dishes of beef, fish and scallops.
We had our satisfying fill but spent a little more time take some photos and appreciate the view.

Having spent time being on the top of Cebu, we decided to work our way back down to the city center going to our last destination in our itinerary. Our last destination was the location of the first fight for freedom.

500 years ago in 2021, on the very shores where Mactan Shrine stands today, the famed Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan met his ultimate fate in the hands of the natives headed by local chieftain Lapulapu.
We failed to have our photos taken by the Lapulapu monument on that day due to the number of tourists flocking the park. We instead settled with taking photos in front of the memorial of his archnemesis.

Magellan’s monument.

It was time to go after some goofing around in the park. We contacted our car rental guy and met him at the airport. Soon after, it was time to go.

On our flight back to Manila.
Our Cebu trip was rather short compared to Bohol, but it was definitely packed with a lot of experiences that we would probably remember for as long as we can. None of us really thought that what started as a simple dinner which led to an overnight stay in La Union would eventually lead us to the center of the Philippines.
We got back in Manila early evening. We were tired, but definitely satisfied.
Things just got started.
