Monastic Detour

From the seat of the Archdiocese of Tuguegarao, we went to the house of contemplative nuns. The Poor Clare Monastery of the Eucharistic Lord in Tuguegarao was established in 1997, but the founding of the contemplative Order of St. Clare goes as far back as 1212. The Poor Clares got its name from the fact that it has the strictest adherence to the vow of poverty compared to its contemporaries.

The monastery is a renowned place in Tuguegarao for meditation, prayer and retreat.

The place was peaceful and calm, pretty much as what one would expect of a monastery. It was unfortunate that we really do not have the luxury of time to move around and see the entirety of the place, not to mention that the heat of the day was at its peak. We just took some photos, then off we went.

We continued our journey en route to Santa Ana. I think both Ran and I fell asleep in the journey, and we both woke-up when we felt that the car slowed down. Turns out Sir Dino took a turn by Baua Bridge in Gonzaga, Cagayan where we took photos.

There was a hanging bridge near Baua bridge but when we were there, it was closed to people. We just took a photo from the riverbank.

From the bridges in Gonzaga, it did not take long for us to get to Santa Ana. It seemed like we were in a hurry, and yes we were. We would want to maximize our first day in Cagayan, or at least what was left of it.
