One natural feature that a visitor may see in Palaui Island are the Dos Hermanas Islands. Literally meaning two sisters, the islands lie off the northern coast of Palaui Island. Beautiful as they are, no one is allowed to set foot on them and appreciating their beauty could only happen from afar, optimally while viewing them from Engaño Cape. The reasons why no one is allowed to visit the islands are practical ones. One, the islands have no safe shore to dock a boat. Two, the waves in the area are too strong that even local boatmen avoid them as much as possible.

Dos Hermanas Islands as seen from Cape Engaño.
Given its isolation, one could only wonder on the untouched existence of the flora and fauna that could have already thrived in Dos Hermanas.
We haven’t even reached the actual viewing point, but Ran and I could no longer wait to have our photos taken with the famed twin islands on the background.

As where we took our photos was not the perfect viewing spot yet, we transferred soon after. It was indeed the spot.

We took some more shots but in this part, wala na kaming matinong kuha. The wind was too strong and the sun too high that posing for photo has become inconvenient already.

It was then when our guide finally suggested something we actually haven’t done yet: jump shot. Jump shot it is!

Ran would probably kill me for posting these jump shot photos. He hates these photos. Ang pangit kasi ng timing ng talon n’ya. I am not sure if he jumped too early, too late or just too low.
Well, let us give him this one, shall we?

Now that’s perfect!
