The climax of our Bohol trip in terms of adrenaline rush happened rather early, just on our second day. Ran and I agreed that we would not consume much for breakfast, hence we just settled for microwaveable breakfasts from a convenience store. As much as possible, we need to have almost empty stomachs when we do our first activity: to take a 75-meter free fall swing situated at 200 meters above the ground.

One of the reasons we customized our travel in Bohol instead of taking the usual tourist spots in organized itineraries is that we intend to go out of our way to reach Danao. Located more than two hours away from our hotel in Panglao Island, the road to Danao offers additional beautiful landscapes on top of what is already typical to Bohol.

It was already raining when we arrived in the adventure park, and the gusts of wind are strong, especially that we are on a mountain. No amount of rain would stop us though; we did not go out of our way for nothing.

We paid for our tickets and were led to the waiting area. While waiting for our turn, we feasted our eyes with the scenic view on the top of the ridge.

When we were asked to don our safety equipment, we realized that we are getting nearer to an adventure that we would both try for the first time, and would by far be the most extreme. Heto na ‘yun. Wala nang atrasan.

Initially, Ran was telling me to go first. After a while, s’ya na raw ang mauna. Baka raw kasi manginig na ako pagkatapos, hindi ko na s’ya makuhanan ng picture at video.

Since he’ll go first, I transferred to the view deck to get a better shot of Ran being dropped-off the ridge. Malabo ang pics, ang layo kasi.

The Plunge is an experience of a lifetime. The nerve-wracking pre-drop nervousness, the adrenaline-rushing drop itself and the awe-striking view while hanging at the end of a bungee cord swinging back and forth across a river and a lush jungle below, bring about a feeling like no other. Given the chance, we won’t hesitate to do the Plunge of Danao again.

After our Plunge experience, we headed off already. There are other attractions in Danao Adventure Park, but we were really just after the Plunge. Biro nga sa amin ng isa sa mga guide sa Danao, dumayo lang kami para malaglag sa bangin.

Our second day in Bohol had just begun.
